Child safety standards

You must be 18 or older to use Find Me After. Everyone gives a date of birth when they sign up, and anyone who signs in with Google or Apple is asked for one before they can use the app.

If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it. If you believe a minor is using the service, please tell us — see Reporting below.

The following are banned outright and are grounds for immediate removal, whether or not any law is broken in the reporter's country:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — photos, video, audio, drawings or text.
• Sexualising, or sexually describing, anyone under 18.
• Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to arrange contact with a minor.
• Trafficking, or advertising the sexual services of a minor.
• Using the service to find, share, or link to CSAE material hosted elsewhere.

Anyone can report child safety concerns to us, with or without an account.

• In the app: open the chat, tap the menu, and choose Report. Reporting also blocks the other person immediately.
• By email: write to contact@findmeafter.com with as much detail as you can. You do not need an account to email us.

Reports go into a moderation queue that our team reviews. Reports involving a minor are prioritised above everything else.

• We remove the content and suspend the account, which ends its access to the service and stops any card it handed out from resolving.
• We preserve the account data and the reported content as evidence rather than deleting it, so it is available to law enforcement.
• We report to the appropriate authorities — the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, and the German Bundeskriminalamt (BKA) as our national authority.
• We respond to lawful requests from law enforcement and cooperate with their investigations.

We review these standards as the product changes and at least once a year. The date at the top of this page is when they were last reviewed.
